For the next few weeks I'll be sharing fun ways to style the pieces in my upcoming collection, A Beautiful Mess for ModCloth. This first dress is one of my favorites. It's easy to wear, light and comfy with a side zipper. I love that black gingham can mix and match with so many other colors and textiles, it's a perfect dress for autumn layering. Special thanks to Kinsey for modeling these looks!
Look 1: Have you tried layering a longer skirt over a shorter dress? This easy styling trick gives the dress a completely different vibe! Paired with the black wool hat, it's more 1970s- right? This styling is more dramatic and would be super cute for an art show or a concert!
Styling Details: Dress/Hat/Shoes/Skirt-Vintage.
Look 2: This style is pretty, preppy and 1950s inspired! I love pairing bold tights with a neutral dress and shoes! This is the type of styling I'd wear in everyday life, or on a casual night out.
Styling Details: Dress/Tights/Shoes
Look 3: A fitted blazer is one of my favorite Autumn staples. I invest in at least one each year. This chambray blazer makes the dress a little bit more work ready. This is an outfit that would be office appropriate, but still cute enough to wear out at night. The yellow wedges add a pop of color. (and fun!)

Love those shoes! But I am too tall to wear such high heels wish I could! Yes fall blazers are the best. Really finish off any look. Check out my post on fall blazers. And Modcloth is great. I met a blogger at the Lucky Fabb Conference and she had on a long leopard print button up sweater with spike studs on the shoulders it was great!
Love all the looks! Such a cute dress! 🙂
