A few weeks ago Trey and I celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary. Whoa! I know! I can't believe it's been a year already either.
I mentioned to him that I'd like to get some portraits taken of us, to mark our first year together. I'd love to keep this tradition going so that by the time we are 70 years old I could potentially cover a whole wall in our home with a photo of us from every year of marriage. I'm sure we'll have lots of different hair styles and clothing-style changes over the years. Not to mention some day we'll add a few kiddos to the mix and then grandkiddos too. I'm hoping for lots of dogs as well. I'll have to try and work our three dogs into the photos next year. I'm sure that will be easy. 🙂
As I look at these photos I think about where our life is at right now. We ended up having to wait a few weeks after our anniversary to get these photos because life's just been so busy lately (in a great way!). Honestly, Sarah was kind enough to snap these photos while we were all at the Millsap Farm's pizza night celebrating for a few of our friends' birthdays. We just squeezed these photos in at the end of that day, just as the sun was going down.
I also must say that if you have a husband who is totally happy and willing to try weird photo ideas with you, like pink powder, then you've married well. I saved a packet of this powder from when I ran the color run a few months back. And in case you're curious, yes, it does come out of clothes. I had ours dry cleaned, just in case, and it all came out.

your marriage is kinda special to me anyway (i totally get how weird that sounds, don’t worry!) coz we got married the same year (end of april)… so we were excited “together” and when, for me, it was over i still enjoyed your preparations…

Congrats! This is super cute. I have decided to try this idea as well. Last year I started making photo ornaments so hopefully we will eventually have a tree just covered in family photos from over the years.
These photos are so sweet! My anniversary is coming up in July and I totally want to take portraits. This is definitely inspiring me to make sure I do it.

Great photos. Happy Anniversary! My daughter and family take photos every year on their Anniversary. She has her sister take them with her camera and makes them be Black and White or Sepia with all of them wearing old clothes and standing next to an old building etc… They are great pictures and she gets many compliments.
