It's good to be home. Today is for relaxing, organizing and getting ready for the week. We woke up early and did some grocery shopping. Sundays are my favorite day of the week for so many reasons. I'm feeling refreshed and inspired after our little trip to Chicago. How was your weekend? Elsie
Pictured: Fabric for a project I want to do this week (via this Etsy shop), books and journals, this amazing tea (it has cinnamon, chili pepper and pink peppercorn) is so spicy and amazing, i made a cold brew today (my cup is from this Etsy shop), my parent's yearbooks (last week i told my dad i was sorry for keeping them for so long. he said it was ok because high school wasn't the best time in his life and that the best time in his life was raising kids with my mom… *best moment ever*), beet + ginger + apple juice, homemade salad- i tried a new salad dressing recipe today, pretty lights in the bedroom.

So this has nothing to do with this particular post, but I was googling images this morning to help my husband write a sermon and I googled “dancing colors”. Up came a plethora of paintings but a few caught my eye so I went to the website. From there I was just so impressed with all the great work I was seeing I put the blog into my reader so I wouldn’t miss any. I went back to the blog and as I’m scrolling down, impressed by all the work, there is a picture of you (Elsie) with the artist. Found out this is your mom! So funny that my longtime favorite blogger is the daughter of this great artist I randomly found. So cool. What a small world!
Helen- the fabrics are from Etsy. 🙂 Thanks so much!
Lulu- the tea is from David’s Tea (added a link to the post- oops!)
Heather- that’s so sweet! Nice you “meet” you and I am so glad you like my mom’s work. :)) She’s amazing.

We always go grocery shopping on Sundays. Sundays are easily my favourite day of the week (besides the ‘I have to go back to work tomorrow’ part).
I love having a day to relax and organize. Grocery shopping done first thing is great, too. I always try to be done by 8:30am!

I couldn’t agree more. I’m trying to take it easy today and really savor this day off. After a quick grocery store run this morning, I’m very slowly making an enormous cauldron of homemade chicken stock to turn into chicken tequila soup for dinner.
Oooh I love the bedroom lights!!
That is so sweet of your dad! 🙂
Lovely! How do you make those curtains (?) in the last photo? Or did you buy them? If so, where?? I love them!!
Thank you Elsie, you’re a lifesaver. Have a fantastic evening, you lucky gal!
Lovely post. Just wondering where you purchased the tall wide-mouth mason jar! I had one a few years back that I used all the time until, sadly, it broke. Was yours a thrift store find like mine or is there somewhere that you can buy them from?
