wow… we couldn't have picked a busier time in life to get engaged. since we are in the middle of our store opening season (opens Oct. 29th…) i've been saving most wedding planning until after that. all i really care about is completely enjoying the planning process and, of course, the actual day! i've started some sketch books to keep plans and ideas in. it's become my favorite way to wind down after a long day. here's a little peek into my sketchbook! i'll be sharing occasional peeks at my wedding plans here on my blog… maybe once per week? we're planning for May 2011! XO, elsie

  • awwww that sketch book idea is awesome, love what you’ve come up with already! and yay for may weddings, i got married in may 2009! πŸ™‚

  • So happy for you both! My husband and I got married in May too…but 10 years ago. Oh man, that makes me feel old. You are doing the right thing by trying to enjoy the planning process. My hubby wanted a big wedding and I wanted it to be intimate. He won on that one. Anyhow, I stressed SO much about it. So, Elsie, take it day by day and soak up every moment just as you say you will. Blessings to you both πŸ™‚

  • I can wait to see your wedding plans! I know it’ll be crafty and beautiful! Congratulations again!! =)

  • I agree, May is the best time to get married. I did 2 years ago and have loved being a Mrs!

Congratulations on your engagement again! I recently got married myself (2 weeks ago to be exact) and the married life changes you in a weird way. >.<

  • We kept a book during the process too and it was such a fun keepsake to go back and look at all the things we considered and the silly notes we wrote on the things that got axed. I have to worries that you’ll enjoy every second!

all of the weddings he shoots are extremely inspiring and unique (one of my favorites is penelope and william of tennessee)…enjoy!

  • Good essay! Once upon a time, two women created the cutest velour hoodies and matching drawstring pants. The line was called Christian Louboutin and every starlet in Tinseltown had to have one. Soon after, so did the rest of the world. Now the once little brand has blossomed into a fashion empire, complete with clothing, Christian Louboutin Shoes, jewelry, handbags, and most recently, fragrance.

  • I saw a wedding that had a vintage typewriter at the reception. each guest would type their name on the typewriter for the couple’s guestbook. and i thought of you.

  • what a lovely idea! … I’m sooo excited for you and can’t wait to see a couple of pictures of your wedding … I’m 100% sure that it’s going to be cute, crafty (in the good sense)and fun πŸ™‚

also, since i haven’t been around to comment, congratulations!! πŸ™‚

  • That’s WAAAYYYY exciting!! I’m in the middle of the planning/executing crazies before my day on Oct. 2nd. I really wanted to absorb and enjoy every moment of the planning process…but now, I’m finding it’s the most exhausting, emotional experience of my life. Can’t wait to look back on it! I found a great way to keep online inspiration, it’s called “snipi”. It’s been great for me, check it out!

  • I love that I’m not the only grown up who doodles out plans like this πŸ™‚
    So exciting!
I wanna marry my hubby again just so I can plan another dream wedding *sigh*

  • good luck! I’m sure a second time around in marriage should offer better planning and what not

  • Congrats! My husband and I had such a good time planning our wedding (including a ridiculous game of capture the flag after the ceremony). We’ll be married a year next month, and my friends are still talking about how much fun they had. πŸ™‚

  • Hello lovely,

I love your blog and peek at it daily. I just got married on the 21st of August and didnt like the idea of a guest book so I painted a canvas a wood grain pattern (our theme) with a heart and our names that everyone wrote on. They even signed in the grain which I hadnt thought of. Turned out so cute. Just thought I’d pass along the idea. Good luck.

  • OMG your wedding is going to be soooo cute and crafty and totally unique. Can’t wait to see pics! Enjoy the process. My hubby and I go only married with the judge πŸ™ we plan the real deal for the 5th anniversary. We just had our 1st, so…I have some more time to get ideas. I made my own little site to collect ideas. Its in German though. πŸ™‚
