It’s become a tradition around here to make a new cranberry cocktail every Friendsgiving. I love the challenge! In the past we’ve had Cranberry Mimosas, Cranberry Orange Margaritas and Cranberry Jello Shots. This year I decided to do a twist on my first-love cocktail, the mojito. Oh—mojitos and I go way back. BFFs for life! We’ve also teamed back up with the Cranberry Marketing Committee for this delicious recipe in honor of Friendsgiving. The Cranberry Marketing Committee helps promote cranberries, America’s Original Superfruit, and they’re hosting their Cranberry Friendsgiving Photo Contest again with even more chances to win this year! More details on the contest are below.
Needed:
Cranberry-Lime simple syrup (see below)
light rum
fresh mint leaves
fresh lime
fresh cranberries
club soda (not pictured)
To make the syrup: combine a handful of fresh cranberries, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup cranberry juice in a pot. You can double the recipe if you have a large group. Then just stir on low heat until the sugar has dissolved completely. Right before you take it off the heat, add the juice of 1 whole lime. Let it cool and keep it in an airtight container. If you refrigerate it, it can last about 1-2 weeks, but every time I make it, it’s for a party and it’s gone quick!
In the bottom of a tall glass, muddle a few fresh mint leaves. Combine 1.5 ounces cranberry-lime syrup, 1.5 ounces light rum and 1 ounce lime juice. Add ice. Top off with club soda and stir to mix.
Garnish with a stick of fresh cranberries, fresh mint leaves and maybe an umbrella?
Note: If you’re a fan of super sweet cocktails, double the syrup. This recipe is lightly sweet.
Success!!! Bonus points if you have cute tiki glasses, am I right? (We found ours here and here.)

Great recipe, definitely gonna make this one! I know you might don’t want to answer on this one, but I’m really curious how you see the USA elections. Have you voted and if yes, for what candidate? I know it may seem irrelevant for you, but for us European readers, you’re representing a ‘normal American’ and it would be really interesting to hear you opinions! I really hope you will answer, I love your blog!
Emma and I both voted for Hillary Clinton. We don’t want to use our blog to talk about politics as that’s not the purpose of what we do here, but we don’t mind sharing at all (and we both shared this on IG).
I will say that since this election was so split there’s really no way to categorize the normal American. Both republicans and democrats (and everything in between) represent a huge part of our population.
xx! Elsie
