As I look through these pictures I keep thinking that it's almost exactly one year ago that we were taking our engagement photos in the snow. I guess snow pictures are kind of a thing for us. I think we're going to try to do it every year. Trey is a cold weather kind of guy. I'm… getting in to it. π (I'm kind of a summer/beach girl though!) Trey is actually taking me skiing next month for Valentine's Day. I'm pretty excited/nervous. I've never been skiing before. I've also never been ice skating. I'm a pretty clumsy person and until recently (the last two years) I really wasn't into anything fitness-y. I'm happy that has been changing. And I'm also excited to learn to ski (I plan to take lessons) and try out something new with my man. I'm also very excited to try and take photos up on a mountain. That was one of my favorite things from our Switzerland honeymoon.
Emma's Wearing: hat/UO, hoodie/H&M, coat/thrifted (originally from NY&Co), shirt/F21, jeans/James Jeans, boots/Hunter, gloves/Wal-mart.
Trey's Wearing: coat/Topman, hoodie/H&M, jeans/UNIQLO, boots/Frye, gloves/Drop
Some time in the next week or two, Trey's gonna have to take me ski clothes shopping. I love layers, but I don't have any of the right kind of clothes to stay warm up on a mountain. That'll be a fun date night. I imagine it will be like, "Hey honey, which of these giant puffy pants look better on me?"
Romance. So, so lucky to get to have our portraits taken by our good friend Katie Day. She is an absolute blast to work with. I admire any photographer who doesn't complain at all during a snow shoot. I think it was like -8Β°F that day (glad we don't live more north!). Good sport. You da best Katie!

Ah, these are great! Snow makes for such a beautiful setting. Wishing you the best of luck as you take on skiing! I’ve only been snowboarding thrice so I too am a novice.
Oh my, how cuuuuute! I love snow pictures, but as a southern belle who lives in the north now (just got hit by the dreaded polar vortex), I’m hard-pressed to go out into it. Ahhh welll..

Love the romantic snap shots.

… and your Hunter boots and not only as I own the same π So lovely pictures http://www.dressedwithsoul.blogspot.de
Emma you guys are soo cute on these photos, little lovebirds! You’ll have lots of fun skiing, it takes time to get the hang of it, but even just being up on the mountain is always breathtaking. Have fun! =) xoxo

so dreamy, and beautiful! I could never move somewhere w/out snow! true Chicagoan! http://www.heartofchic.com
So cute. So fun. Living in Austin, pictures in the snow would be a really difficult yearly goal…
very sweet photos – i think having photos taken regularly is a wonderful tradition!
Learn snowboard instead of ski, it’s way more fun and easier! Well, I’m not completely neutral in that matter since I almost never tried skiing, but snowboard is truly great, believe me π
so fun! i loved looking back at your engagement stories and shoots, too!
xx
These photos are so sweet!xxx

These pictures are so sweet. I absolutely love the face to face ones. I wish my husband would be up to having photos taken.
I’m a skier and love it – although I think snowboarding is easier to learn. Cute snow pics – I’m with you on making it an annual event.
These pictures are so sweet! My boyfriend and I actually both tried skiing for the first time last week up in Vermont — He was much better than I was! I also tried ice skating for the first time, which I liked a lot better (hello, flat ground!). It was a wonderful trip, though, and I’m sure you’ll have a great time too!
Such lovely pictures! Good luck finding some killer “puffy pants”! Maybe style them for a Sister Style shoot?? π Happy Wednesday!

You’re really cute.

These pictures are so beautiful! I’ve never been skiing either and I haven’t ice skated in a few years. It would be such a fun date night for this time of year!

Really? I had heard snowboarding was a little more… extreme. Also sometimes hard on your knees, and I have pretty bad knees. I do think snowboarders look cool though. π

These snow pictures are adorable, and I love how you’re making it a tradition every year!
Oh la la, l’amour!! so cute! wonderful pictures!
Ha! Yeah, I bet everyone wants to see that. Maybe if I post any vacation photos… we’ll see. π
-Emma
She was awesome! So easy to work with and I swear she made us look so good while we were actually goofing off and shivering the whole time. But you can’t tell in the photos because: Katie Day is awesome!
I’m ignoring your other comment. π
-Emma
Some days it’s hard to go out here too. Probably way worse north of here though. You are one tough cookie if you ask me.

beautiful images! i love winter but definitely want to get better at skiing. my boyfriend is always on the double black diamonds and i’m lucky to make it down a green π

You guys are just SO sweet! Love the pictures, so natural and fun!
Ahhh so cute! I too have never been ice skating – good luck with skiing next month!
Yaay! Finally a Tremma Mr. & Mrs. sorta-outfit post! You guys and snow just seem to go together
Those photos are beautiful and you both look amazing together π
I won’t attempt the sport, but I don’t mind watching it.
Beautiful photographs!
I’m from Puerto Rico and moved to Boston for college and I’m dreading going back to the cold when the winter break is over.
You two are absolutely adorable. It doesn’t snow down here in Florida, and it barely gets cold enough for a big coat, but that doesn’t mean I wish it did. I absolutely love skiing and once I recoop from the baby I plan to take our family at least once a year to do so. It’s one of my favorite things to do!
Oh goodness these are so so cute!

These are so adorable!! I live in North Carolina so we don’t see much snow action around here, but I hate the cold weather! I might be more into going out in it if it was that pretty though!
These photos are so gorgeous!

if youΒ΄re going downhill-skiing I really recommend working out your thigh-muscles before. YouΒ΄ll need some thigh-strength to do to great turns and stops in slalom, also youΒ΄ll be really sore
Gorgeous photos! We are still trying to decide where we will take our engagement photos π

awesome snowy photos! love it!
Oh my, I just adore these…
These shots are so gorgeous! I’ve been trying to convince my man to come out with me to take some photos in the snow … it’s not that he hasn’t been going out, since he’s been outside wayyy more than I have during this wicked cold snap, it’s more that he is only going out to do those must do things like shovel the walkway one more time. But if I knew some lovely shots like these could be a possible outcome, I’d get out there. Ok, who am I kidding? … there’s no way our shots would look this pro!
These are so happy and romantic.
Loving this! So romantic! You guys look perfect together! π
ANDREA
These are the cutest pictures π Good luck skiing! Maybe you should attempt ice skating first though? Lol, be sure to get pics of THAT!

Great pics! Congratulations!!
I snowboard with my family and it’s loads of fun! I recommend really stocking up on warm long underwear/similar under-clothes stuff. Good snowpants/ski jacket are obviously a must, but the under-stuff usually makes more of a difference! hope you guys have a wonderful time!!!
Work it you two. Love me some Katie Day photo!!
Skiing is so much fun once you give it a chance, and there’s actually some really cute gear out there! I actually went on a trip out to Weston at Snow Creek a year or two ago and it wasn’t a bad little mountain… plus whiskey and a sweet little brewery.
Gorgeous and sweet pictures. There is something extra romantic about pictures in the snow!
Skiing is awesome, it’s hard work at first but once you get the hang of it (a day or two) and can actually move a bit, it gets awesome π
As long as you go to have fun, you’ll have a great time π (and don’t forget hot chocolate breaks! π )
Ah Emma, these photos are so beautiful π I’ve never been skiing before, and I am useless at ice skating π
Emma, I think you guys look even more in love!
I live in Vail, CO and am a bit obsessed with skiing. Where are you going? Here’s the deal: Skiing is easier to learn but harder (impossible) to master where as snowboarding might take you two solid days before you feel that you can even stand on the board but within a week you will be pretty good! Let me know if you need any pointers in either one!!
http://thezaleinvail.blogspot.com/
You might have to take a little road trip to stl and go to the alpine shop in kirkwood. That place is awesome. I’ve been skiing in colorado once. And here are a couple pearls of wisdom for the first timer. Take your first day to acclimate yourself to the altitude, you don’t want to get sick by over exerting yourself the first day. The ski boots will take some getting used to, they don’t bend at all so your walking around like a zombie, not attractive. Drinking alcohol in the hot tub is fun but your might pay for it, the altitude makes it go straight to your hear, you have been warned. Your a pretty active person so you might be fine but prepare yourself for some sore muscles, you might want to splurge on a massage. And my number 1 tip is… if you start going to fast and can’t slow yourself down, never and I mean never try and sit down to stop yourself. Since your boots don’t bend you will just turn yourself into a bullet. I had to learn this lesson the hard way and the only way I stopped myself was hooking a sapling tree with my arm to keep myself from running into the tree line and pulling a Sunny Bono. Fall to your side. But I have to say, riding up the mountain is just glorious and I would definitely do it again. You will love it.
Beautiful photos. So envious of the snowy pics.. we don’t get that down here in Texas too often. π
These photos are so great! I wish I lived somewhere more snowy and could easily get photos like this.
So lovely ! Photos are amazing!
Oh my god, these are some seriously cute photos.
http://brittannytaylor.com/blog/
Ah you must let us know how you get on skiing. My boyfriend really wants me to go with him but I’m just not sure it’s my thing. I have opted out this year due to cash flow but I hope to do it one year. Have a great time Emma and Trey π x
These are so beautiful!
ADORABLE!!! I am a summer/beach girl myself, but I love to take the childcare kids sledding at least once each winter, as long as I don’t have to trek the hill π
simply gorgeous π
Trey… your nose is crooked. You should get that looked at.
Love yums!!
These outfits are so cute! Love the pics!

Oeh that looks like real love in unisex clothes π
Love it!
I went skiing for the first time a couple weeks ago. Let alone the beautiful landscape and the good weather make it worth it. Take it easy the first day, then it’s gonna be fun!
Emma, If you can find a way for puffy pants to look good – Please let us know π
Lovely pictures.
I learn how to skate last year. It is never too late, to learn something. π Good luck with skiing!
And pictures are great. Remembered my wedding pictures. These where also in snow. Actually, you can see these pictures in my blog, I made blog post because we had our first anniversary 2 days ago. π
actually, ski is easier to learn compared to snowboarding π
