Also, by buying from a company like Brave, we know that the creators are getting paid fairly, and the product is not from a sweatshop. I think its also rare to find environmentally and socially conscious brands that make really chic products, but this leather bag is SO gorgeous.

Just a note; the term “low-wage countries” is pretty offensive and meaningless. There are sweatshops in the US and Canada and there are unionized factories in China and Bangladesh that provide fair wages to their employees. A better way to phrase it would be to say that they only work with companies with fair labor practices.
A girl can never have enough leather and their creations are GORGEOUS!
It’s always great to see a company conducting their business fairly and honestly!
And following the route of honesty, I would love to win one of those prizes – I just can’t afford leather!

Def liked you guys on FB and of course following you on Twitter. I’ve been following the blog for quite some time now and I must say, I love your DIY page…. The one’s I love and have made myself are the recipe book, as a way to stay healthy and always have recipes on hand. The vintage postcard travel journal, working as a PR rep for a Travel Agency this one was my all time favorite project to do, we often times rely on the many photos we upload onto fb, twitter, instagram or whatever your vice is and forget the old fashioned way of storing some of our most memorable journeys. My next undertaking will be the shelving units! super excited to see how mine will turn out. Thanks for all the tips!

I’m always a bit squeamish about new leather products (though nothing stops me stalking and buying them on ebay) so it’s really nice to see a company that cares about more than getting the products out for the least money possible! The bag and the bracelet are both very cool, but in totally different ways – the bracelet has the whole rocker thing going for it, whereas the tote is more about chic sophistication!

I love your blog — I check it at least twice a day for updates.
I think it is great that Great Leather Co. creates jobs for Canadians, because Canadians need and deserve jobs! But it would hardly be “dishonest” or “unfair” if they did otherwise (as the write up seems to imply)…just unpopular by the American way of looking at things these days.
I live in a “low-wage” country in Asia, and I hope we would promote the well-being and ability of ALL people to feed their families with dignity, not just the ones who share our citizenship.
