Agua Fresca: Two Ways

Agua fresca2Agua fresca3Summer time has us in the mood for refreshing beverages. We love a good cocktail but there are plenty of delicious non-alcoholic drinks to be made as well! Currently we are loving Agua Frescas, which are a lighter version of fresh fruit juice. Here are two simple recipes for making your own Agua Fresca.Agua fresca watermelon1Agua fresca watermelon2Watermelon and Mint Agua Fresca, makes 6-8 servings.

Needed: 8 cups seedless watermelon cubes, 2 cups water, 5 tablespoons honey or sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice (plus a few slices for garnish) and mint sprigs.

In a blender combine the watermelon, water, sweetener of choice and lemon juice. Liquefy! You can strain this through a fine mesh sieve or leave the pulp in. In a blender combine the cantaloupe, water, sweetener of choice and lime juice. Liquefy! You can strain this through a fine mesh sieve or leave the pulp in.
