At Home With Shannon Acheson

At Home With Shannon AchesonWe are happy to welcome Shannon Acheson to the blog today to share her lovely home with us!
In love with this dining roomLove this classic dining roomPretty hutch“We had outgrown our last house – a bungalow – and were looking for something a little larger for our family of five, but not huge. This house fit the bill with a greaty layout and enough space for everyone. We moved in 10 days before we were to host Christmas in 2012. Not something I’d recommend but it turned out okay!”
Love everything about this living spaceLove the couch hereSuch a cozy living space“The whole main floor is my favorite space in the house because it houses our living room, dining room and kitchen. Each of those rooms is open and bright and full of my favorite things. We host family and friends and everything from the big squishy couches to the farmhouse table are well loved and used.”
In love with the walls in this bedroom“There are several things my husband and I have worked together to DIY in our home. Ourbrickmaker style coffee table, the sliding barn door, the farmhouse dining table, open kitchen shelving and even my desk have our personal stamp on them. We installed hand scraped laminate floors and faux board and batten. My favorite thrifted finds are our vintage bar cart and the fancy ornate framed chalkboard in our dining room.”
Love this breakfast barOpen shelving and white dishes- yes!Love that chandelier and mint door!“We’ve lived in this house for just over a year and a half – which isn’t that long. But we’ve made good use of the time. We’ve updated the kitchen, laid new flooring and painted so many surfaces! Our style has evolved to be a bit more eclectic than before. I adore many looks: farmhouse, industrial, shabby, etc. So as much as I find eclectic to be a pretty generic term, it’s the only way I can describe our style.”
