It’s never been easier to customize a message just as unique as the person you’re celebrating! Whether it’s a wedding cake for your funniest friend or a dozen cupcakes for your favorite coworker, you can easily make their day more memorable with a custom inside joke or catchphrase. Add them to a floral arrangement or layer up over a simple naked cake—either way your friends are going to know they’re pretty special.

-oven bake clay—I prefer to use Sculpey as it’s the easiest to work with.
-alphabet and number cookie cutters—I found these at a big box craft store, but you can also find something similar on Amazon.
-rolling pin
-parchment paper
bamboo skewers
-acrylic paint and paintbrush
-hot glue or super glue (not shown)

Step1Turn your oven on and set it according to your oven bake clay manufacturer’s instructions. Then roll out your clay between two sheets of parchment paper until it’s about 1/4″ thick or more. The trick to the best looking letters is an even clay surface.

Step2Punch out your letters and numbers and place them on a piece of parchment paper. Put that on top of a cookie rack before placing them in the oven according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Step3Once they’re ready, remove from oven and let cool. Paint with your favorite colors and then glue the bamboo skewers to the back.
