1. Supplies Needed: 1 yard wool (I ordered mine from Mood), scissors, chalk. 2. Fold your piece of wool diagonally. 3. Fold it again in the opposite direction, so that there are four layers of wool. 4-6. Cut the neck hole (see photos) Make sure it's large enough to be comfortable. 7. Use chalk to mark where you will cut the fringe. 8-9. Cut the fringe, through both the front and back layer, vertically from the point to both outer edges. Use a damp towel to remove the chalk lines. 10. Your new poncho is done! Now you can style it. We thought that this would be fun with embroidered details around the neckline or a v-neck. Enjoy your new piece!
I love the way this piece turned out! It's so pretty and simple. Kinsey and I had so much fun creating this cute and simple D.I.Y.! I hope you give it a try. It's probably the quickest/easiest wearable project I'll post all year. xo. elsie

A Collection of Passions
This was a great project! I just completed it!! It was so easy and simple to do. I didn’t have “any extra wool laying around” but I did manage to snag a yard for 30% off. Mission Accomplished!
Love this! How creative.
This is of course fine piece of clothing which suits the girl well. But the fact is that I came here only because the girl was so lovely, haven’t seen one like this for ages!
Great Idea! you make it look so easy!
Love it! And on a side note, where is your gorgeous necklace from? x
If you use a yard of fabric on this it won’t fold into a perfect triangle when you fold it in half diagonally… Did you cut the yard of wool
Into a square first?
I cannot figure out exactly where you cut the neck hole after you fold the fabric…can you help me?!
So easy to do. Will do this with old blankets. 🙂
