We had some leftover wool at the shop, so Kinsey and I decided to experiment with it. We wanted to create a simple 1970s inspired poncho that could be made with only one yard of fabric. The best part about this project is that it requires absolutely no sewing and it can be done in 30 minutes! Here's what we came up with…

1. Supplies Needed: 1 yard wool (I ordered mine from Mood), scissors, chalk. 2. Fold your piece of wool diagonally. 3. Fold it again in the opposite direction, so that there are four layers of wool. 4-6. Cut the neck hole (see photos) Make sure it's large enough to be comfortable. 7. Use chalk to mark where you will cut the fringe. 8-9. Cut the fringe, through both the front and back layer, vertically from the point to both outer edges. Use a damp towel to remove the chalk lines. 10. Your new poncho is done! Now you can style it. We thought that this would be fun with embroidered details around the neckline or a v-neck. Enjoy your new piece!

I love the way this piece turned out! It's so pretty and simple. Kinsey and I had so much fun creating this cute and simple D.I.Y.! I hope you give it a try. It's probably the quickest/easiest wearable project I'll post all year. xo. elsie
