Easy No Tease Braided Bouffant

No tease braided bouffant (click-through for tutorial) I grew up watching more old movies than current ones, and as I developed my personal style, those early influences stayed with me. Naturally since I like wearing 50s and 60s style dresses, I’d also like retro styled hair to match. But, like, teasing hurts. I mean not when you’re teasing it, but afterwards when you finally go through the process of de-tangling it and crying over your damaged hair. Thankfully if you have medium to long hair, I’ve learned a trick to give you that bold bouffant/beehive style without the damage of teasing!

No tease braided bouffant (click-through for tutorial)Step One: Tie a good amount of your hair into a small ponytail using a clear hair elastic. I like to use the top of my ears as a guide and gather everything above that line into my ponytail.

Step Two: Roll your ponytail down towards your scalp and then tuck this roll underneath your hair elastic. This can be a bit messy or tricky the first time, but just shove all of your ponytail up and underneath the elastic.

Step Three: Pin your new bouffant in place by pushing a bobby pin through the elastic and into your hair. Carefully smooth and rearrange your bouffant to keep it even (I’m almost always lopsided at first), and add bobby pins as necessary to hold it in place.

Step Five: Pin your braids across the front of your head, tucking the ends underneath.

You can rock this look at your next party this year and not regret the style when you take your hair down at the end of the night or next morning! You can also dress this style up with a hair clip, and heavily winged eyeliner is always recommended! Cheers, Rebecca.
