Hi friends! We're teaming up with our friends over at Pentel again to bring you this fun little little video sharing two simple wearable DIYs that you can make with their Fabric Fun pastels. They have the look and feel of an oil pastel, but after you iron your design it becomes washable and permanent! Such a simple process. You just draw your design, place a blank sheet of regular printer paper over the design (really just any normal blank paper), and iron the design in place. All done!

What is the texture of the pastel after ironing and washing? Is it completely smooth or slightly raised?
It’s out of focus, but the label on the sweater looks like Mossimo– which is a Target brand. Very cute project.

This is a really lovely project that will be perfect for the work I am doing with young children! I am an outdoor classroom teacher working with children ages 2-5 years old. Right now we are creating art that commemorates the monarch butterflies that visited our classroom in the early fall of this year. I can imagine the beautiful images of monarch butterflies and caterpillars that the children are drawing and painting duplicated on fabric using this process! I am imagining that it is so much better than the computer printout/iron-on method, I am wondering what types of materials can this be used on?

Oh, the pastels… I never ordered them. Maybe next year, when it´s time again to come up with a workshop idea for the girls camp I use to volunteer at.

This seems like a great product to use with kids! I like the sweater, but the scarf definitely looks like crayon…which I personally wouldn’t wear, but think kids would love it!

I really like it! I tried screen printing and it turned out horrible, but this would get the same effect without the hassle.
I am absolutely giving this ago. Never really knew how to use them in a way that was more ‘grown up’.
