Flower Market – Our Fabric Line!

For years, we’ve dreamed of designing our own fabric line—and it’s finally here! No joke, Emma and I tried to pursue having our own fabric line back in 2011. At that time, we just didn’t have the brand or connections to make it happen, but now (eight years later) we say that dreams really do come true. Never stop pursuing your dreams! You may not be able to control the timing, and that can be frustrating and humbling. But seeing this fabric line come to life and now getting to hold it in our hands and make things from our patterns is just the most amazing feeling.

Over the past year, we created a line of fabrics for PBS fabrics. They have been amazing to work with and we were thrilled that they were as excited to pursue designs on organic cotton as much as we were. Our line is called Flower Market and the full line is currently available on fabric.com here!

Here’s a look at the pattern mix. We were heavily inspired by the ’70s for both patterns and colors. The florals and the stripes are our absolute dream fabrics! I love the whole lineup and it has a great mix of patterns that go together or can stand on their own in a variety of projects. The gingham is definitely one of my most used patterns so far, followed closely by the vintage-inspired florals. And I know Emma has a project she’s working on with the stripes and plaids.

Clearly we are obsessed with them all. Ha!

My very talented friend Mallory made us these adorable matching dresses for Easter using the new fabric! You can read a little more about that here The first place I used the fabric was to make a cover for our diaper table in Marigold’s nursery.

Laura has been making the CUTEST things, including some kids clothing! Lola looked adorable in her little jumper dress for Easter this year. 🙂

If you’re interested in the fabric, you can find the full collection here. If you’re a store owner and wanting to carry the line, you can reach out to their team to talk about how to request it at this link.

This was an absolute dream project for us! And I have to give a special shoutout to our designer, Mara, who we work with often. She did an amazing job of making these patterns look convincingly vintage.

If you have any questions, we’re here to help! We’d LOVE to see anything you sew with the new fabrics! Please, please, please tag us if you make something with our designs! xx. Elsie + Emma

  • I am obsessed!! All these fabrics are perfection, you guys knocked it out of the park!
If this collection sells out, will you consider adding upholstery weight fabrics in these patterns? I’d love to reupholster a chair in one of the petals fabrics. <3

    • Hi! Thanks so much for the request! I would love to do upholstery weight at some point (I honestly doubt it would be with these patterns though- we designed them for cotton) xx!

  • Just ordered a couple flower designs. Can’t wait to get them in!

It was my first time ordering from fabric.com because their pictures are so crappy. If I didn’t have your blog to refer back to I would have never ordered. They have the worst pictures ever!

    • I’m glad you snagged some! Can’t wait to see what you make!

Their images are actually just the digital versions- I feel like they are very accurate to what our fabrics look like. 🙂

  • Any plans to do any knits? So many adorable patterns out there that I’ve had my eye on need fabric with at least a little bit of stretch and 100% cotton has none. Not trying to sound picky but I’ve been learning a lot about fabric recently and using the right type for the right project can be so tricky!

  • Wow! What fun! I am in love with those fabric patterns and colors! They seem so fitting for you all’s style 🙂 I know it is soon, but do you have any plans to do any more fabric lines in the future?

    • Hi! We don’t have anything in the works yet, but we’re hoping that this one will do so well we’ll get invited to do another collection! 🙂 Fingers crossed!

  • I’m so excited! I just purchased a vintage dress pattern and was on the hunt for a cute fabric to make a matching mommy and daughter outfit. Your flower prints were exactly what I was looking for. It looks like they are selling fast, will you be restocking more? I purchased the pink floral print with the red gingham print but I was hoping to go back for the green floral next. Beautiful selection. Congrats ladies!

    • Awesome!! Please please please tag us in photos once you’re done. We can’t wait to see it! 🙂

Thank you so much Heather! xx

  • Okay, so I was a little kid in the 70’s, and oh my goodness you nailed the era! I had clothes, home furnishings, bedding, you name it, in prints almost exactly like these! And my mother was really big into mommy/daughter dressing (I’m the youngest of five and the only girl). Nostalgia time! Now, are you going to bring back crocheted vests? Ha ha! Congratulations on fulfilling your dream!

  • That tiny jumpsuit makes my heart so happy! Congratulations on your beautiful collection!

  • This is, by far, my favorite project of yours, EVER! The 70s vibe/colors are so convincing that I can see any of these in my collection of vintage bed linens. This is seriously “groovy!”

  • I LOOOOVE this fabric! Can you tell me if the pink flower market will be restocking? Also, do you know where the pattern for the baby overalls is from? So inspired! *Hearts*

  • I just bought the flower market print (LOVE!) to make dresses for my granddaughters. Can’t wait!

  • Hi there! I just found you through the fenceline fabric website. I own a beeswax wrap business which I source organic fabric for. I have been purchasing my fabric from fabric.com the whole time and never did your fabrics show up under the organic cotton line. They have it categorized under 100% cotton I believe. I am sad to have missed this. Maybe you can let them know that this is happening as its not showing up for those that want organic cotton.

  • Love this unique line. A fan of the 70s retro vibe with that features cohesive colors/looks to mix and match. Would love to carry these for garment making. Just followed the link to inquire about wholesale. Great job! These would be awesome on other substrates as well❤
