Emma and I are wearing comfy t-shirts c/o Skyline Fever, an Etsy line by our friend Laura's husband.

Recently Emma and I have been in meeting mode. Meetings about this and that fill our days. Lists, timelines, goals and schedules…. that's our world right now. We're having a lot of "what's next" type conversations and it's really exciting. I have to say, I'm so incredibly thankful for Emma. This past year has been amazing and according to our to-do lists It's looking like 2012 is going to give this year a run for it's money….. Life is good! What have you been up to? xx. elsie

  • Hopefully once I’m done with my Master’s degree I’ll be going to Beauty School! I want to become licensed to do some awesome hair, then I shall open my brick and mortar store that does retro inspired hair but with colors like mine (currently bright purple and pink) as well as sell my handmade clothes. Part of the fun is in getting there, and I am no where near your stage of entrepreneurship…but I’m definitely taking the right steps! I am soooooo thankful you guys did a Dream Job course! It has helped me in so many ways…I cannot even tell you! Love you guys…I can’t wait to see what awesomeness you launch in 2012! Hearts, janna lynn

  • Those are cute t-shirts!!! My husband and I are already talking 2012 plans. We’re hoping to save up for a trip to Europe. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

  • I think you are one of the most inspiring bloggers right now but I also think your relationship with your sister is so genuine that its more inspiring to be than your blog. I don’t have a sister but your appreciation of your sister always reminds me to be thankful for my brothers and parents. I am excited to see what you’ve got up your sleeve for 2012! ali

  • I’m learning that as an artist/business owner, this looking ahead thing doesn’t end. It’s both exciting and scary…but mostly exciting. 🙂

  • I’m feeling kind of the same way lately. Lots of lists, ideas, inspiration, goals, and dreams for my blog and my new shop. This is definitely my most creative [and busy!] season ever. I love it!

Your shirts are super cute! I’m so excited to see what you girls have in store for the rest of this year and the next. Hope you’re having a great weekend. <3

  • Your shirts are too cute! I think this time of the year is just a little busy for everyone… Its a feeling in the air that makes everyone want to get everything done!

i’ve been taking lots of photos, mostly for myself but some for other people (getting paid!!). it’s been really motivating, along with your own story, it makes me want to branch off and work for myself. i’m taking it slow tho and right now just planning on taking a darkroom class with the corcoran college of the arts here in dc, experimenting, playing, taking lots of photos and picking up whatever odd photo jobs come my way.

thanks for being an inspiration mrs. elsie!

  • I’ve been spending a lot of my time creating a crochet pattern booklet. I developed 5 patterns inspired by classic doilies. I am calling it Lace Love. I just need to do all that technical stuff and get it together. It’s the boooring part, so I’m lagging. I need someone to force me to get it done THIS WEEK.

  • I love how positive this blog is!
Whats next for me? Graduating from Environmental Engineering… so I guess its time to start saving the earth!

  • Nothing like a great to-do list! I’m toying with the idea of opening a store and filling it with amazing things, but I’m torn because I really do love my regular job too. Oh, and you know, renovating my house and planning our wedding… 🙂

  • How nice to read something about you! Its been soo long, i love all the diys. But i kind of missed the person behind the blog. Enjoy all the meetings!

  • I’ve just finished reading your Dream Job course and I love it! So my plans for next year are to use what I learned and to start my child-room-décor business. I hope I will have enough courage and enthusiasm to do it while having my full time job in totally different area (ecotoxicology) and running home with two small kids and being wife 🙂 Whish me luck! I wish you a lots of luck and satisfaction!

  • Sounds very exciting! I’m looking forward to the day when I can start having face-to-face meetings with my sister over coffee too. Right now we have to settle for Skype meetings. Looking forward to what you guys are bringing in for 2012! 🙂

  • love the indian top!
i’m graduating architecture school in november, and looking for a masters or even better a phd in the States, although i’m swimming in fierce deep waters with that, it all seems so confusing!
    enjoy your meetings!
p.s. i managed to do your hair-bow tutorial on my friend, it came out pretty cute (i have a pic on my blog if you want to see). next step is on my own hair 😛

  • Getting married this weekend! I’ve been doing a lot of thinking in 2011 about what’s next, after the wedding. The new hubs and I will certainly be making plans to tackle 2012 with new ideas!

  • I just opened my own boutique yarn shop, and have to say your business has been such an inspiration! Can’t wait to see what y’all get up to next!

  • Loving that Indian-inspired tee. Hoping my 2012 is just as exciting as yours and working on some projects to make it that way! By the way, I appreciate Emma too!

  • loving the sunglasses in the last photo!

2012 sounds like a busy year for you guys! My plans so far are: see my sister get married in the spring, start renting & decorating my own apartment in London, & i’m also currently job-seeking as i recently became a chartered accountant (my ideal job would be to work in finance within the creative industries!)

Keep up the good work/inspiration 🙂

  • I’m in my first term of art school right now and all that’s been on my plate is managing my time. I’m getting better, but I’m still lost about 20% of the time.

  • You’re such an inspiration. I want to open my own shop but sometimes I just feel over my head and wondering what to do. I wish I had someone to partner with like you and Emma do. Wishes, wishes…

  • i became an independent contractor at my salon (as opposed to being on commission), started blogging, and turned 30! i’m constantly inspired by *your* blog to upstyle my own clothing and wear more of my vintage…you’re awesome, lady!
