Nursery Progress Report

Hello, friends!

I’m excited to share a little progress report on our nursery (number two!). The room is nearly complete, but I will definitely stretch out these last few decisions because it’s just so much fun!

During out first adoption, we waited until our home study was complete to begin decorating, and we found it incredibly helpful to fill the months between all the paperwork and the match with something fun and productive. I remember feeling (during our first adoption) that I was bonding with our future daughter, in my own heart, by preparing a magical nursery for her. Looking back, it was such a valuable part of preparing my heart and our home for motherhood and I can’t believe it’s already time to do it all over again!

Oh! And before you ask, our wallpaper is from Chasing Paper.

Here are a few details I shared. Paint swatches and wicker “hardware” and butterflies I found on eBay. I decided to continue the wicker animal theme from Nova’s nursery because, well, I’m still not over wicker. AT ALL.

Next on the checklist, I’d like to make a few handmade toys and dolls. I feel very sensitive to the fact that I spent SO much (too much, maybe) time prepping for Nova and this adoption process feels very different and MUCH easier. So even though I’m not emo as hell this time, I still want to be intentional to pour a lot of love and energy into our preparation for little sis. We love her so much already!

I’ll be sure to share a tour sometime soon! Thanks so much for following along! xx – Elsie
