I recently pinned Rachael Ray's Apple Cider Float and in the back of my mind I was like, "…with Whiskey, though!" I think this is the perfect indulgent party treat and since I'm hosting a small party tonight the timing is perfect!
Spiked Apple Cider Float, serves one
2 cups apple cider
Ground Cinnamon
Ground Allspice
Maple Rye Whiskey
Vanilla Ice Cream
Simmer apple cider with a pinch of allspice and ground cinnamon. Heat until warm. In a glass, combine apple cider, 2 ounces whiskey and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Sip with a paper straw and enjoy!

This is so inventive. I’m not sure I’d like the combination of apple cider in ice cream, but I’m game to try it! And chili sounds awesome, hope you share that recipe:) I love fall for soups and stews and chilis!

I’ve never had these kind of ‘float’ drinks, although they always look delicious, yours included. And I love the addition of whisky, I’m sure it goes perfectly with the ice cream 🙂

This looks delicious! I only moved up to WA from TX two years ago, and no one I know in Texas drinks apple cider. It just isn’t a very Texasy thing! I never had it before moving but now that I have, I love it!
I’m probably the least alcohol drinking person in their twenties that I know, but I’ve been curious about spiked cider. I may have to give this a try!

Totally pinning this for my Christmas Eve party. Effing love it.
Looks and sounds delicious. Wonder about using applejack, an alcoholic apple cider. I’ve never actually tried it, but have heard a lot of friends talk about it. Probably easier to just use the bourbon I have on hand than try to find the applejack, unless I could learn to ferment it myself. And that could happen at some date.
