hi! i have been super busy lately getting ready for Scrapfest (at the Mall of America) and working on some fun projects…. I wanted to open it up to some suggestions… what would you like to see/read about in the next few weeks on my blog? What would be fun for you? Love, Elsie

  • I enjoy seeing your pictures. I’d like to hear more about what you do with them in photoshop.

  • I agree with Felicia…I’d love to learn more about your photography style. I’m playing more and more with Elements and would love tips as your style is right up my alley!

  • You always post great photos of yourself. Wondering how you create these self portraits…do you take the shot yourself or is there a mystery camera person?

  • I love that you put up lots of things that inspire you…. colors, places, “things”. I always love to see those posted. Also would love to hear about your creative process. Do you start with a photo or a certain paper or what? I know some start with a idea in their head then go with it, but I am curious how you start a page and then get going with the creative juices!

Thanks for an awesome and inspiring blog!!

  • I would really like to know where you got that little owl ornament….I’ve scoured ebay (uk) for one but haven’t found one the same. Also do you only scrap for yourself or do you take commissions? I’d love to have one of my photo’s elsified!!!

  • Hey Elsie,

Lots of great idea on here…. I would love to hear about how you got started, what kind of school did you have to attend/ or did you even need extra schooling for this career? (The life you are living now is soooo where I wish I was, I would actually be inspired about anything that you posted.

  • I think most of the suggestions are great- the photoblog of a typical day in the life of Elsie, what your work space looks like, and how you organize the ‘stash’ you use!

Your new hair colour looks lush.

Greetings from a 16 year old girl in England,

    -Kimxx!!

  • first off, your hair is so cute!!! that red down the middle is awesome.

all I can ask for is that you update daily. I love reading new stuff…but if that’s too much to ask for, then just every OTHER day would be fine πŸ™‚

  • LO’s about FAll-ish things

past halloween costumes and experiences. Things you love about fall. πŸ™‚ Fall makes me SO happy!

    And more about your clothes.

Maybe you could talk about things you your brother and sister used to do when you guys were little, like my brother and I used to put the bottoms of our feet together and push them like we were riding a bicycle, and we’d start off slow and then go faster and faster until our little legs were all over the place, or one of us would get kicked in the eye! lol! And we found out our friends, nickey and craig, who are also brother and sister, didi the same thing when thy were little! lol. And my friends anna and rachel, who are sisters, used to play the little mermaid in the bathtub. πŸ™‚

    Your high school experience.

Favorite recipes, but BAKING. I just made some yummy pumpkin spice bread with a caramel glaze for a contest at school. Wish me luck!

and tips are always cool! Woohoo! I love seeing your lo’s. πŸ™‚ Good luck with scrapfest. PeAce

  • You amaze me because you must work soooooo much and yet you have the time to take stunning photography…I’m curious to know HOW you manage to get so organized… I have a problem with procranistation or something…or maybe you have found THE secret to do a lot in a small amount of time…

    Elsie…………..;do you have a twin sister?!!! πŸ˜€

no seriously, you simply inspire me with everything you do and I just wanted to say BRAVO.

  • I would also love to know more about how you get your photos so vibrant and clear. I’m sure it has alot to do with the camera you have, but i would be very interested in what editing you use and such to make that color pop like you do. I love your style and is so up my alley so to speak, but my photos seem to just go “blah” compared to my layout accents! (which are mostly Love Elsie lately. he hee)

    Thanks –

  • I would love to see more posts, your blog is one of my favorites! Would you share your scrapbooking/photography journey with those of us who are new to your blog? Thanks!

  • You always have so many cool elements on your pages…how do you keep things organized? I’m hopeless with buttons and ribbons and floss and paper and all sorts of stuff just floating around. I see (with tremendous envy) a very professional-looking paper holder in the background of your latest post…sigh. Is that the answer? What did you do when you had Just No Space for scrapbooking? Thanks!

  • I met you at CHA this July and I commented on your photography skills. Specifically the up close personal shots like those of Hannah (on Flickr). I would love to read about tips for taking posed shots, action shots, editing tips, even the use of props (i.e., the laundromat, the colored doorways, etc.). Great scrapbook pages start with great photos and I’d really like to pick your brain (for lack of better words) on photography. I apologize if this has already been said. There were too many posts already before I got here πŸ˜‰

  • I’m curious…when we see these fab layouts…are they an end result? I mean are there outtakes? Do you try, try, try again? Or darn you, does the adorable whimsy just flow like magic?!?!?

Oh, I love the owl too! It’s our school mascot!

    Bridget in Meraux, LA

  • I LOVE your hair! I am such a newbie to scrapbooking that it is sick! I have just started an album for my son who will be 17 in a week. I want to document some of his life NOW. His favourite clothes, his car, his job, music etc. I am so excited to do this so that he will have it when he is older, but honestly I am also scared. Agh! I would love to see your art space too. Keep on keepin’ on! Ciao!

-how to get inspired when you’re home alone creating (that’s my current challenge)

I know you’re amazing at cupcakes and sweets, but what are your favorite recipes?

Do you have a favorite place to shop? What about around the world in your travels?

I hope you have an amazing day, Elsie!

  • Elsie, you’re a such sweetie.

I’ve been following your passion for photography and checking out your Flickr entries. Love those photos – every one!

Would you mind sharing some of your post-processing workflows? I love the way your sweet brother’s senior photos look – could you share workflow on a few of them that you personally find really exceptional or cool looking?

I also love the processing done on your recent 365 self-photos, so sharing that would be nice too!

Also, when you shoot – do you shoot auto, aperture pri, shutter pri, or another way?

    Thanks Elsie,

    Penny

  • Lady you just keep getting more and more beautiful… I love the funky hair. Been playing myself. Have a great day.

    Dawn

  • WOW, I can’t believe how many great suggestions you’ve gotten from your readers!

It would be cool for you to have a video post. At first, something just to say hi and this is my space. Then later post a video of you creating a scrapbook page. Then another video of you showign how to do something in photoshop.

That would be very personal, not sure if it’s something you’re interested in doing.

Also, it would be very cool to have readers submit photos. Pick a random photo and create a scrapbook page for that reader. Maybe once or twice a month. I’m sure your readers would love that, even if it’s not their photo. Blog about what happened when that reader found out you chose their photo to scrap.

    Just some thoughts!

  • More house/apartment/decorating pictures! Please, please, please? We bought a house last year that needs A LOT of work. We’ve done so much already, but it was so VERY BLAND at first! I am constantly on the look-out for new decorating inspirations. It’s such a great past-time while my husband is deployed. I feel like he will have a whole new home to come back to, and I can’t wait to see what he thinks!

  • Hi Elsie, you look great. And I already like what you’ve been doing so far. Just continue to do so. I love reading your blog. Always excited to see e new post.

    Kisses

    Lory

  • Hi,
