Johnny Depp…. 1 word: YUM!
I’m looking forward to it, I LOVE Edward Scissor Hands, it was my favourite movie when I was a kid, but I’m not wanting to get too excited for it because I didn’t enjoy the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the umpa lumpas were a let down and Mike Tv. It was magical but not the same as the butterly excitement of the original!

It’s looks more like the American McGee videogame and not the Disney version which i LOVE! I’ve been working on an Alice in Wonderland specimen collection and can’t wait for this movie to come out!

we are HUGE Johnny Depp fans, huge Tim Burton fans, but … since the Willy Wonka remake, we have reservations. Could be amazing, or could be a disappointment, like that movie was. I remain hopeful!!!

My hubby and I are SUPER excited to see it. He saw the preview yesterday and went “AWESOME!” lol. I’m actually even more excited to see 9 since he’s never done a “pixar” type animation before. That looks good.

I’ve been so looking forward to the movie…btw, some of my favorite ispiration music would have to be django and stephane grapelli, it transports me to another time and place and that’s exactly what I need sometimes:)

I hate to be the sole naysayer here, but I honestly think Burton’s style is too dark and gnarly for Alice in Wonderland. I understand that there are dark undertones to the original story and that, at times, the Disney version veered into almost “scary” territory (something about Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum always made me anxious in a bad way), but I don’t know…I always think of Alice in Wonderland as colorful and whimsical and lush (like Mary Blair’s illustrations)…not grey and clunky and digitized to death.
I personally think Sofia Coppola would be great at translating Alice in Wonderland onto film. She just has SUCH an amazing visual style, full of pastels and delicate things (Virgin Suicides & Marie Antoinette, anyone?)
That being said, I’ll still pay my $9.50 to see Burton’s version when it premieres next March.

Alice in Wonderland is one of my all time favorite books and I love everything Tim Burton does…with that said I am a little nervous about how dark he will make this movie. Disney’s original animated version is very much sugar-coated. But I agree with Jess… Sohia would have been awesome! But I will still be waiting in line to see it, no doubt!

The book was very dark and its about time someone creeped this one out.
Either way it will be a fun movie. Although I have heard from many that Johnny looks like Elijah Wood in this movie.

I really love Alice in Wonderland, but this trailer doesn’t do anything (good that is) for me. I’m a little worried. I’d love to see a remake, a really good close-to-the original remake, but not sure about this. I’ll probably still watch it though. Hopefully its good because no one else will be doing a remake of it for a really long time now.
