Toy Story Family Halloween Costume

AUGH, YOU GUYS. I have waited so long for this moment … our first family costume! I’ve honestly spent years dreaming of this day and I can’t believe it’s finally here!

So, obviously I chose Toy Story. It’s one of my favorite childhood movies and as you might already know, I am super into toys (like, way above average for an adult). I have so many nostalgic feelings about this costume! I knew we would be Woody and Jessie, but I wasn’t sure what Nova would be (hence the costume change below … you will see … haha).

This costume is crazy simple to recreate! I got almost everything on Amazon and made a couple of the pieces within an hour. Here’s a quick rundown:

Woody costume: Cowboy Hat, Shirt, Sheriff’s Badge, the red scarf is mine and I sewed the vest myself using felt.

Jessie costume: Costume Kit and I made the shirt myself—it’s a plain white shirt from Target that I hand painted with yellow and red fabric paint (it was honestly so much fun to make!). If you don’t want to make a shirt, you can buy it here.

Buzz Lightyear costume: Presley Couture (only $15!) The thing I love about this dress is that while it is a costume, it’s also a comfy jersey dress (which is my number one favorite thing to dress Nova in) and she will totally wear it over and over. Oh, the star sunnies are older, I can’t remember where we found those.

To infinity and beyond … AM I RIGHT?

And here’s the alternate version … costume change!

Alien: Alien Hat, Green One Piece.

Nova loved the alien hat, it was so cute. I would say it’s definitely adult size, but it could easily be tightened for a child.

Pure happiness and nostalgia!!!!! If you’re looking for a last minute costume, there’s still time to order using Amazon Prime. xx. Elsie
