Try This: Family Photo Christmas Display

Christmas decorating is one of the happiest things that I can think of … all the sparkles and twinkling lights can’t help but lift my mood. Todd and I are both a few states away from our extended family, so I thought it would be a sweet idea to make a display of photos from Christmases past to remind us of all the happy memories this holiday brings. I partnered with Canon USA on this post, and all it took was a few calls to our moms to get all the cute memories I needed!Supplies:
-photo frames in different sizes
-photo paper
Canon PIXMA TS8120
X-Acto knife and cutting mat

Start by resizing and printing your photos the appropriate size for each frame that you want to use. I think it’s fun to have some black and white and some colored, but you could also make them all black and white if the colors didn’t all go well together. It’s great having a printer at home so I can try multiple layouts and photos to see what I like the best! The PIXMA TS8120 prints well on different types of materials too, so you could try a matte or thicker paper if you were going for a different type of look. Cut each photo out with an X-Acto knife or scissors. Place your photos into each frame and stagger them by height and shape so you have a balanced look (here’s a similar double photo frame). Add some bottle brush Christmas trees in between your photos (or maybe a few twinkle lights) and your display is complete! That’s me with my cutie parents! I was a pretty bald baby, so I love that Lola has some hair! There’s little Todd in the colorful sweatshirt—I can definitely see some Lola in that face! It feels extra special that we got to add in our own Christmas photo of our new family of three this year. I was a little too late on the Christmas-card-sending-out-thing this year, but hey, at least we got a photo that I can print out at home! Love the prisma frame, brass frame, and lucite and brass frame I used for the display, and those lucite block frames were one of my simplest but most favorite DIYs this year. It’s so special to have these memories from our two families together as we create some new memories of our own! Hope you get a chance to do this with your warm memories as well! Happy holidays! xo.
