Ahh…Mary Blair is magic…=) I was intorduced to her a few years ago in my animation course – they still idolize her artwork and concept illustrations at Disney..(sigh). =) Happy day!

This week, magic to me is sitting down outside my new house at night, tired but satisfied after a long days work, enjoying my new place and the cool breeze after a hot day.
New Beck album? Are you kidding? Oh my sweet G, gotta buy it! I’m addicted to that man and his music. Always something new cool on his albums.
LOVE the Beck album. When I first listened to it, it seemed just okay, but after listening to it a few times, I’m nuts about it. It hasn’t left my car stereo since I bought it a few weeks ago. I’m especially in love with track six.

The job I do at the newspaper I work at put together weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. (kinda like a mini scrapbook each Sunday), I love the “magic” of putting in the people who have turned 100! I once had a woman named Agnes who was 106. WOW!

i LOVE mary blair. my favorite book of all time is “i can fly”. her illustrations make me want to create. her alice in wonderland stuff makes me insane with joy.
Those are really amazing paintings! Right now, all the rainy, stormy weather we’re getting is like magic. It puts me in such a relaxed, creative mood!

My magic this week was when I realized that someone was thinking of me today. I know this because I can tell who was checking out my blog.
It’s fun to know that somebody, out of the blue, was thinking of me and decided to read my blog. That seemed magical to me. A little ray of sunshine on a very stormy day.

That it’s going to be my bday tomorrow and the only thing I can think of is how lucky I am. I’m alive. I’m healthy. I get to live near the beach. I have full-time employment with great benefits. My parents are alive. I’m in a loving relationship. And all I want for my bday is absolutely nothing. I’m happy. That to me is magical.
Thanks for showing some of her work…this is the most Mary I’ve experienced outside of Disneyland and a lot of that is fading fast in this new age of ours; what a shame. We are heading for the beach this weekend…one more day until the ocean–ahhh, that’s magical.

I’ve been a long-time “lurker” on your blog because your posts and images always inspire me so much. When I feel like I’ve hit a creative wall, I just have to go back through your posts and inspiration is bound to strike. I really like your “52 Challenges” book, as well.
I wanted to let you know that if you’re looking for more Mary Blair, see if you can find a copy of the Disney “Cinderella” special edition collector’s DVD Gift Set. It comes with a complete storybook with lots of Mary’s conceptual artwork for the film scattered throughout and then the DVD has “deleted scenes” which are completely done by Mary Blair. So pretty!! It was a limited edition, so you may have some trouble finding it, but you’ve given so much to me over the years, that I wanted to share a little joy with you.
