Whole Wheat Pretzel Bites

Homemade pretzelsNumber one all time favorite airport food: Auntie Anne's pretzels. So if you ever run into me in at an airport and you see me scarfing down an almond crusted pretzel, don't judge. Just come say hi. We're all human. Sometimes you just gotta eat a pretzel while your traveling. I don't care how long the line is or if it's "only" 10am. I'm at an airport. I wantz a pretzel.Pretzel bitesHomemade pretzel bitesI learned to make pretzels at home last year and I was in the mood again earlier this week. Because I just don't travel enough to get my pretzel fix. Instead of the usual I decided to try a mini version, and adding in some whole wheat flour. I followed the same basic recipe and method but instead of 3 cups all-purpose flour I used 2 1/2 cup all-purpose and 1/2 cup whole wheat. I also added sesame seeds to the tops. πŸ™‚ The addition of whole wheat does make the dough a little less elastic, so it's a little more fussy to roll out.Whole wheat pretzelsIt's a fun variation.
